Vista Q&A with Jayne Smith

What do you enjoy most about Vista?

I absolutely believe in everything we do for our clients and that makes each day extremely fulfilling. From the collaborative office environment to the investment philosophy to the planning process, I can't imagine a better way to serve them.

What do you feel is the biggest value Vista brings to its clients?

We really get to know our clients, so what is important to them dictates what is important to us. There is no one-size fits all approach and the advice is personalized to each clients’ needs.

How should people think about their wealth?

Wealth is simply a resource that provides choices. The real question is what makes you happy - early retirement, spending more time with children and grandchildren, making donations to the charities you care about most? Once you've established your goals, your wealth should be managed intelligently and effectively to ensure you reach them.

What do you love to do outside of work?

My second career outside of the office is being a mom. Anything that involves spending time with my family and friends is my cake. My icing would be travel, volunteering for the school foundation, and wine tasting.

What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

Getting my CFA early on in my career has been invaluable to my growth. Since then, I'm most proud of becoming a part-owner in my prior company and later joining forces with Vista. I honestly feel like I'm at the best place and with the best people possible for my professional future, and that directly benefits my clients.
